The Cairns North Medicare Urgent Care Clinic in Smithfield unveiled an upgraded entrance and new clinical spaces on 2 November 2026, Northern Queensland Primary Health Network (NQPHN) says.

The upgrades include two consultation rooms, a triage room, a three-bed treatment room, a reception desk and two waiting areas. NQPHN says the clinic has treated more than 12,600 patients since opening in March.

The clinic at 7–11 Mount Milman Drive is listed as open from 8am to 10pm, seven days a week, including public holidays. It provides care for urgent but non-life-threatening conditions. NQPHN says life-threatening illness or injury requires emergency care. Patients should check the clinic’s current service information before travelling.
