Mount Isa Rodeo has committed $10,000 to help 13-year-old Lareece Daley-Kennedy compete at two youth world finals in the United States.
The Kalkadoon and Pitta Pitta cowgirl has been invited to the Professional Youth Roughstock Association World Finals in Oklahoma and the World Championship Mini Bulls World Finals in Texas.
Her invitations follow strong results across north-west Queensland, including second place in her first steer ride and third place in the Indigenous mini bulls at this year's Mount Isa Rodeo. Her family and regional supporters had already been fundraising for the trip.
The revived Mount Isa Rodeo is also putting greater emphasis on junior development. Its annual clinic teaches safety, technique and competition skills, with about 50 young riders attending this year.
