Cronulla has kept its NRL premiership campaign alive with a 26-16 elimination-final victory over North Queensland at Sydney Football Stadium.
Five-eighth Braydon Trindall returned four weeks after dislocating his shoulder and managed the match with his kicking game despite appearing restricted at times.
Sione Katoa crossed twice against the club he is due to join next season, while Siosifa Talakai also scored as the Sharks responded after entering the finals with four losses from five games.
The defeat ends North Queensland’s season. Cronulla advances to the next stage of the finals, with the official draw determining its opponent and schedule.
