The visit will be his first official trip to Palau and his fifth participation in the forum as prime minister. The meeting brings Pacific leaders together under the theme “Building Economies: Life. Action. Unity”.
The government says discussions will cover major regional priorities. Albanese will be joined by Climate Change and Energy Minister Chris Bowen and Pacific Island Affairs Minister Pat Conroy.
Australia is a founding member of the Pacific Islands Forum, which serves as the region’s main political institution.
