More than $70 million has been allocated to four regional Queensland infrastructure projects intended to unlock capacity for 710 new homes in Kingaroy, Cherbourg and Kilcoy.
The largest allocation is $51.3 million for 8.4 kilometres of trunk water infrastructure and associated pumping facilities in Kingaroy. A further $11 million will support about 5.5 kilometres of sewer infrastructure in the same town.
Almost $4.1 million is earmarked for water and sewer works along Fisher Street in Cherbourg. In Kilcoy, $3.62 million will go toward road, intersection, active-transport and drainage upgrades around Highwood Lane and the D'Aguilar Highway.
The funding is for enabling infrastructure and does not mean all 710 homes have already been built. Housing delivery will depend on planning, construction and development activity following the supporting works.
