Queensland Rail will add 417 weekly passenger services from Monday 12 October after reaching in-principle agreements on its remaining enterprise agreements.
The operator says the expansion will bring the South East Queensland network to 7,725 services a week, or 91 per cent of the full timetable. Beenleigh and Shorncliffe line trains are due to return to 15-minute peak frequencies, while additional services will also be added on several other routes.
Queensland Rail expects the full timetable to return by the end of November as it clears a maintenance backlog that developed during protected industrial action. The industrial action has now been lifted.
The proposed agreements cover Network, Rollingstock and Operations, and a new electrical-only agreement. Queensland Rail says the package includes an 8.5 per cent wage increase over three years, possible cost-of-living payments linked to inflation, and backpay. Employees will vote on the agreements.
