Seven Queensland childcare centres are among 11 Edge Early Learning services set to close after the company's administrators were unable to secure buyers for those sites, according to reports published on 13 October.

ABC News reports that administrators KordaMentha received offers for 53 other centres, but no viable offers for the 11 affected services. Seven closures are in Queensland, three in South Australia and one in the Australian Capital Territory.

The Queensland centres identified in the report are at Cannon Hill, Kelvin Grove, Milton, Morayfield East, South Brisbane, Strathpine's Railway Avenue and West End's Jane Street. None of the seven listed Queensland sites is in Cairns or Far North Queensland.

ABC News reports that families at affected services have been given information about nearby facilities that may have places available. The disruption follows Edge Early Learning entering voluntary administration in August.

Families should use direct notices from their centre or administrators for centre-specific arrangements, as the situation may change during the transition.
