South Melbourne have won the 2026 Australia Cup, defeating Melbourne Victory 4–3 in a penalty shootout after a 1–1 draw at AAMI Park on Saturday night. The competition organiser says South Melbourne are the first member association club to lift the trophy.
Victory went ahead in extra time through Denis Genreau in the 95th minute. Max Mikkola equalised for South Melbourne in the 117th minute, taking the final to penalties. Goalkeeper Javier Lopez was named the Mark Viduka Medallist. Australia Cup reported an attendance of 29,911.
