Cairns Regional Council will test the Copperlode Falls Dam Early Warning System on Thursday 3 September between 10am and midday.

Nine outdoor sirens in Redlynch, Redlynch Valley, Freshwater and Brinsmead will be activated simultaneously several times during the test period.

Council says residents do not need to take action during the scheduled test. People with pets that are sensitive to loud noise are advised to keep them safely indoors.

Regular testing is designed to familiarise the community with the warning system and provide a prompt to review emergency plans and evacuation information.
