Mookai Rosie Bi-Bayan is marking 40 years of work alongside Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women, children and families across Far North Queensland.

The Cairns-based community-controlled organisation provides accommodation and family-health support for people who travel from remote and regional communities to Cairns. It describes its approach as grounded in culture, family and connection to community.

To mark the anniversary, Mookai Rosie Bi-Bayan has announced a gala dinner on 29 October, followed by a Healthy Futures conference on 30 October. The organisation says the conference will bring together speakers to discuss health and wellbeing, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Social Justice Commissioner Katie Kiss and researcher Yvette Roe.

The organisation's official celebrations page has current event and ticket information. Its main website explains the accommodation and family-health services it provides.
